Window shutters with a modern twist

We all love windows – they let light and air into our building interiors. During the day, the way we choose to dress them can have a dramatic impact on a room – which changes again later in the day, when the time comes to shut out the night.

Among the many and varied window treatments available, window shutters are currently increasingly being chosen for the task at hand. Window shutters come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, imparting a range of effects on the look and feel of a room. They are also invaluable in providing the flexibility of providing a degree of privacy, something they provide in substantially more style than the traditional net curtains.

In Georgian times, window shutters were made in solid wood, hinged and drawn across the window in place of more modern curtains, to completely shut out the light. An equivalent modern window shutter is now available in several styles, providing the additional benefit of providing an additional insulation layer to keep the heat in.
